    "Osmanlı Devleti'nde Şehbenderlik ve Paris-Londra Örnekleri" adlı bu tezde Osmanlı Devleti'nin Şehbenderlik (konsolosluk) kurumu Paris ve Londra örnekleriyle birlikte incelenmiştir. XIX. yüzyılın başlarında ortaya çıkan Şehbenderlikler kısa sürede hem dünyanın değişik yerlerine yayılmış hem de yapısal ve işlevsel birçok değişikliğe uğrayarak uluslararası diplomasinin önemli bir parçası olarak Osmanlı Devleti yıkılıncaya kadar önemli hizmetler vermiştir. "Devlet-i Aliye'nin reaya ve tüccarının her türlü işine yardım etmek" amacıyla tayin edilen Şehbenderler, bulundukları yerlerde Osmanlı Devleti'ni iyi bir şekilde temsil etmişlerdir. Çalışmamızda işte bu kurumun oluşumu, yapısı, işleyişi ve bu çerçevede örnek olarak anlatılacak olan Paris ve Londra Şehbenderlikleri üzerinde durulacaktır.AbstractIn this thesis, -titled "The Institution of Consulate In The Ottoman Empire and The Cases of Paris- London"- the institution of consulate of Ottoman Empire is studied together with the cases of Paris and London. Consulates that appeared at the beginning of the nineteenth century spread out all around world in a short time and they dealed out by undergoing both functional and structural changes until decadence of Otoman Empire as an important part of the diplomacy. Consuls who were appointed to help the traders and citizens of Ottoman Empire represented their state properly in their post of duty. In this study, establishment, structure and functions of this foundation and
