Item 2D analytical model for evaluation of the forces in the three point hitch mechanism(Ankara Üniversitesi, 2020-09-04) CEROVİĆ, Vera; MİLKOVİĆ, Dragan; ALEKSANDAR, Grbović; Ziraat FakültesiLarge investments, research efforts and time have been allocated till nowadays for innovation of agricultural tractors and machinery, with the primary aim to increase their productivity, reliability, durability, as well as the environmentally friendly, safe and easy usage. Following this general trend, present work is focused on theoretical analysis of the forces acting on the links of the three-point hitch mechanism. The simulation algorithm and computer code have been developed for calculation of draft forces by two methods (following ASAE D497.4 standard and Goryachkin approach), depending on the three point linkage geometry and mouldboard technical characteristics, and calculation of forces acting on lower and upper links of three-point hitch mechanism. Calculated forces values, based on ASAE draft, exposes smaller differences compared to experimental values, while for the Goryachkin method improvement is possible by entering experimental values for soil resistance coefficient k and coefficient of dynamic resistance ε, as we did in this study performing measurements on the aggregate comprehending tractor IMT 539 (IMT Belgrade, Serbia) and two furrow moldboard plough PTO 2.25 (OLT, Osijek, Croatia).Item A case study on the risk of rural poverty in semi-arid region of Turkey: Kırıkkale province central districtTATLIDİL, FÜSUN F.; DELLAL, İlkay; KESKİN, GülsenItem A Comparative Study on Age Determination of Carp (Cyprinus carpio Linnaeus, 1758) in Lake Eğirdir Using Otolith, Vertebrae and Scale Counts(Ankara Üniversitesi, 2018-06-01) Bolat, Yıldız; Yağcı, Abdülkadir; Ziraat FakültesiThis study, a comparative age determination study was carried out between May and November of 2013 in order to estimate most reliable bony tissue for ageing of the common carp in Lake Eğirdir. Scales, vertebrae and otoliths were used by one reader via 5 replicates for ageing. Highest agreement among the bony tissues was found in otoliths (10.67%) and most reliable bony tissue was determined as otoliths for age determination in Lake Eğirdir carps.Item A comparison of natural Eimeria spp. and gastrointestinal nematode infections of goat breedsTÖLÜ, Cemil; SAVAŞ, TürkerItem A GIS Based Land Suitability and Gross Value Evaluation of Mined Lands in Şanlıurfa District(Ankara Üniversitesi, 2022) Çullu, Mehmet Ali; Bilgili, Ali; Almaca, Ahmet; Dikilitaş, Sema Karakaş; Other; OtherLandmined areas are located along the borders of Şanlıurfa province between Turkey and Syria with 220 km length and 400 m width. Governmental institutions attempted to determine the potential and suitability of mined lands for any agricultural activities before removing active mines. The research was conducted to estimate land suitability and gross value for irrigated agricultural production (GVIAP) of the mined areas using the database for the surrounding land and data obtained by Geographic Information Systems (GIS) techniques. The study was conducted in three steps; data including soil characteristics, digital elevation model (DEM) and orthophoto images of lands located 2 km nearby the mined land along the Turkish border were collected. The data containing DEM and orthophoto images of mined and adjacent lands were integrated in the second step. Finally, a field survey was conducted along the border district and soil samples were collected for each soil boundary nearby the mined lands. The integration of data in GIS allowed to expand the soil boundaries from adjacent lands into the mined lands. Data analysis showed that the total mined land is 6706 hectares of which 90.2% is highly and moderately suitable, 6.9% is less suitable and 2.9% is not suitable for irrigated agriculture. The gross value of irrigated agricultural production was estimated as 2212 US Dollars per hectare. The results revealed that the integration of inaccessible land database with the remote sensing data and GIS can be used to estimate the gross value which is derived from soil characteristics of the mined lands.Item A heterosis study for some agronomic traits in oatDUMLUPINAR, Ziya; KARAKUZULU, Hilal DEMİRTAS, Mehmet Baris; UGURER, Muzeyyen; GEZGINC, Hasan; DOKUYUCU, Tevrican; AKKAYA, AydinItem A Multivariate Analiysis in Relation to Edaphical and Environmental Factors of Rangelands Vegetation of Mugla Province(Ankara Üniversitesi, 2020-09-04) Öten, Mehmet; Erdurmuş, Cengiz; Kiremitçi, Semiha; Ziraat FakültesiThis study was carried out in order to compare in 20 different rangeland sample areas that determined in order to environmental variables, vegetation and soil properties by multivariate ordination analysis in Mugla province. Cluster analysis was made to determine the similarity and species compositions of sample areas, and as a result of this analysis, three different groups have occurred. Additionally, detrended correspondence analysis (DCA) was made after the indicator species analysis. The interaction between environmental and soil-borne factors as altitude, distance to village, soil depth, pH in saturated soil with water, lime and surface stoniness were found to be significant and this significance was expressed by graphs. Moreover, it was indicated that relationship with species in the vegetation of the variables that were determined as significant by tables and figures. The relationship with the species in the vegetation of the variables that were determined as significant was also indicated. The result of the study showed that environmental variables as soil depth, soil pH saturated with water, stony surface, altitude and distance to villages had a significant effect on the species diversity and distribution in the samples areas.Item A new approach for determination of seed distribution area in vertical planeALTIKAT, Sefa; GÜLBE, Alper; ÇELİK, AhmetItem A New Pest Species Delia platura Meigen, (Diptera: Anthomyiidae) on Garlic (Allium sativum L., Alliaceae) Area in Kastamonu Province of Turkey(Ankara Üniversitesi, 2020-09-04) Erdoğan, Perihan; Ziraat FakültesiGarlic (Allium sativum L., Alliaceae) is consumed at all stages from fresh to dry in Turkey. Major harmful factors, pests for example, bring about a significant loss in garlic production. Studies carried out in Kastamonu garlic areas to determine the harmful pests revealed that the important harmful pest was Delia platura Meigen, (Diptera: Anthomyiidae) in the garlic fields. Population dynamics of D. platura was studied using yellow sticky traps in autumn and spring seasons of planting garlic fields. Plants were checked with trap controls and searched for D. platura on garlic plants. Plants tested were recorded as infested and non-infested. The testing of traps finished in two weeks after the harvest. As a result, D. platura, the first emergence of the adult, was detected on March 21, 2017 in autumn planting and in spring planting. In the autumn planting, the highest number of adults caught in traps was on April 2015 with 4 adult/trap/week. In spring planting, the first adult in the trap was 1 adult/trap/week on 14 March, 2015. The study conducted in 2017, the first time of adult determination on trap was on March 18, 2017 in autumn planting. In spring planting, the first adult emerged on March 18, 2017.Item A Prototype Downdraft Gasifier Design with Mechanical Stirrer for Rice Straw Gasification and Comparative Performance Evaluation for Two Different Airflow Paths(Ankara Üniversitesi, 2018-09-05) Dalmış, İbrahim Savaş; Kayişoğlu, Birol; Tuğ, Serkan; Aktaş, Türkan; Durgut, Mehmet Recai; Durgut, Figen Daşçı; Ziraat FakültesiIn this research, a prototype downdraft throatless gasifier was designed with a mechanical stirrer. Outdoors segmentation is often complex and difficult due to both changes in sunlight intensity and the different nature of background objects. However, in fruit-tree orchards, an automatic segmentation algorithm with high accuracy and speed is very desirable. For this reason, a multi-stage segmentation algorithm is applied for the segmentation of apple fruits with Red Delicious cultivar in orchard under natural light and background conditions. This algorithm comprises a combination of five segmentation stages, based on: 1- L*u*v* color space, 2- local range texture feature, 3- intensity transformation, 4- morphological operations, and 5- RGB color space. To properly train a segmentation algorithm, several videos were recorded under nine different light intensities in Iran-Kermanshah (longitude: 7.03E; latitude: 4.22N) with natural (real) conditions in terms of both light and background. The order of segmentation stage methods in multi-stage algorithm is very important since has a direct relationship with final segmentation accuracy. The best order of segmentation methods resulted to be: 1- color, 2- texture and 3- intensity transformation methods. Results show that the values of sensitivity, accuracy and specificity, in both classes, were higher than 97.5%, over the test set. We believe that those promising numbers imply that the proposed algorithm has a remarkable performance and could potentially be applied in real-world industrial case.
