Abstract
THE EFFECT OF A MULTIMEDIA MATERIAL FOR CONCEPT DEVELOMENT ON THE PRESCHOOL CHILDREN'S ENVIRONMENTAL CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT Kaya, Seçil Master Degree, Educational Techonology Department Adviser: Assistant Professor Deniz Deryakulu January, 2005, 138 pages The effects of computer based education with multimedia on preschool children's environmental concept devlopment are investigated in this study. The pre-test finai-test experimental and control group model is accepted in this research, carried out in the frame of experimental study model. 40 preschool students at the age of 6 from Private Çağdaş Primary School and Private Gelişim College for 2003-2004 educational year's second term constitute the study group of this research. Pre-test and final test sheets and family data sheet are provided to the study group by the researcher. Data obtained from this research has been evaluated with SPSS For Windows computer programme. Ki Kare and Mc Nemar Tests are used for statistical evaluation. As a result of this research, it has been found out that there is a significant difference between students receiving computer based education by means of multimedia material and students receiving traditional education. Students receiving computer based education by means of multimedia material are more successful in enviromental concept development than students receiving traditional education.
