Abstract

In this study, daily natural behaviors of children aged 5-6 (N = 12) in their natural environment in the family (n = 6) and in the orphanage (n = 6) were investigated using the Spesimen recording method, one of the ecological psychology methods. This method involves recording the behavior of the observed child, what he says, the behavior of the environment towards the child and what he says without selecting or skipping anything, and then dividing the recordings into episodes and examining the structural features and psychological content of each episode. Thus, the structure and psychological content of the child's behavior in the natural environment can be described. In this study, behavioral flows of children growing up in family and orphanage environment were compared. In addition to structural characteristics such as the number of episodes, episode type, episode meaning, the frequency of action models such as aggression, dominance, resorting, resilience, and compliance were determined and compared.
