Abstract
Nâbi-Zâde Nâzım has an important role in our literary history. Nâbi-Zâde Nâzım who was one of the second-generation authors of Tanzimat literature had attempted to apply the genres of West literature to Turkish literature. The author had introduced village(rural) novel to Turkish literature with "Karabibik" and made the first psychological novel trial of Turkish literature with "Zehra".We have made a study about Nâbi-Zâde Nâzım's six stories and the only novel of him. Also, some reading parts of the author's book, "Mini Mini Mektepli", some of his poetries and finally "Enginde" and "Bir Fakir `Âile" stories, which were never published after publishing in Servet-i Fünun, takes part in our study. As a result, we can say that Nâbi-Zâde Nâzım had reflected romantizm, realizm and naturalizm trends to his works within the framework of his own literary sight. Works also give information about the literary environment of Tanzimat period.
