Abstract
Natural resources, environment and agriculture are areas that are interconnected and intertwined. Agricultural production techniques that put less pressure on natural resources are needed. Effective agriculture-environmental policies to be created for this purpose are important for the sustainability of agriculture. For this reason, Turkey aimed to develop agro-environmental policies suitable for its own conditions. One of these policies is the "Environmentally Purpose Agricultural Land Protection (ÇATAK) Programme", which started in 2006. The program has been a turning point in terms of the efforts to reduce the environmental impact of agricultural activities. As a result of the face-to-face surveys conducted with 81 producers using the Simple Proportional Sampling Method within the scope of the research, the demographic characteristics of the producers, the changes in the scope of the ÇATAK Program in the research area, the social, economic and environmental priorities of the producers benefiting from the ÇATAK support, and the policies adopted by the producers receiving support in the agricultural production process in line with the ÇATAK program. Objectives as well as the application priorities of producers in agricultural production and future policy expectations were evaluated. In this context, Simple Arithmetic Mean Method was used to evaluate the data. Changes brought by the ÇATAK program,Likert Scale was used in order to recognize and be satisfied with the ÇATAK Program of the producers and to see what the changes were applied before/after the ÇATAK in the enterprises. With this thesis, the preferences of the producers within the scope of the ÇATAK Program in Kastamonu were understood, their applications were examined and the results of these applications were evaluated in terms of social, economic, environmental and human health. As a result of the research, it was revealed that there was an increase in agricultural incomes as a result of the increase in yield and quality with the ÇATAK supports of the producers. With this study, it has been concluded that producers prefer environmentally friendly production techniques and practices that will benefit environmental sustainability in agricultural production, as a result of ÇATAK supports.
